UFO sightings have always existed, but in today’s world of smartphones and social media, they’re becoming increasingly common. While many of these encounters involve mere glimpses of lights in the sky, there are some cases that go far beyond the ordinary. Some involve physical contact. Others—like the one you're about to discover—involve love, intimacy, and even childbirth. A Childhood Marked by the Unknown

Born in 1910 in the small town of Mooi River in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, Elizabeth Klarer (née Elizabeth Klarer Wet) came from a stable, loving family. Her father, Samuel, was a veterinarian, and her mother, Florence, a devoted homemaker. After moving to a prosperous cattle farm in Rosetta, young Elizabeth had her first unexplained experience at the age of seven.

One day, while helping her sister Barbara care for a litter of puppies, Elizabeth saw something strange in the sky: a disc-shaped object with a pearlescent glow flying silently above them. At the same time, a second, sphere-like object in hues of red and orange hovered high above, rotating on its axis. The disc quickly zipped toward the sphere, and both vanished in a blink.

Though her parents were skeptical, this wouldn’t be the last unusual event in Elizabeth’s life.

Zulu Legends and Reptilian Beings

Not long after, Elizabeth experienced a similar sighting—this time with a Zulu employee named Ladam, who worked on the farm. According to Zulu tradition, such flying objects are known as “lightning birds” and are often linked to spiritual entities or ancient beings. South African shaman and historian Credo Mutwa would later speak of a reptilian race known as the Chitauri, which Zulu legends describe as celestial manipulators who control humanity from the shadows.

From the Skies of Africa to the Halls of Cambridge

Elizabeth’s life took a traditional route for a time. She completed high school and moved to Florence, Italy, to study meteorology at Girton College, part of Cambridge University. In 1932, she married William Stafford Phillips, who taught her to fly a British Tiger Moth biplane. Later, during World War II, she served in British intelligence.

But her passion for the skies never waned.

In 1937, while flying with her husband in a Leopard Moth aircraft, the couple witnessed a disc-shaped craft fly alongside their plane before vanishing at incredible speed. That moment solidified a belief that had been growing inside Elizabeth: we are not alone.

The Visitor Returns… and So Does Love

By 1954, Elizabeth had remarried and returned to the family farm. Reports from local Zulus about renewed sightings of "lightning birds" prompted her to investigate. On December 27 of that year, atop a familiar hill she once rode horses on as a child, she had her most intense encounter yet.

A glowing blue flash caught her eye. Then another. A craft emerged from behind the clouds and hovered silently above the ground. Elizabeth froze, mesmerized. Through the ship’s small windows, she saw a human-like figure. Tall. Still. Watching her.

Then, just as suddenly, the ship disappeared.

But it wouldn’t be the last time she’d see him.

Akon: The Man from Meton

Eighteen months later, Elizabeth returned to the same hill—this time equipped with a camera. Again, the ship appeared. And this time, she met the being inside.

He introduced himself as Akon, a visitor from the planet Meton, located in the Alpha Centauri system—just over four light-years away. Akon invited Elizabeth aboard his ship. Inside, she saw a beautiful crystalline lens through which she could observe Earth, even down to the interiors of buildings. Akon explained that they had learned Earth's languages by monitoring radio and television signals.

He also told her about the mothership, a massive vessel the size of a small planet that served as home to his people, the Metonians, as they traveled through space for extended periods.

Inside the Mothership

Elizabeth was eventually taken to the mothership, where she saw lush gardens, flowing streams, and vibrant blue grasses. The air was rich in oxygen and made her feel rejuvenated. The Metonians wore elegant, flowing robes made of silk and welcomed her warmly.

And there, among them, was Akon. Tall, handsome, and with soft gray eyes, he captivated her completely. The two grew closer, and soon, Elizabeth’s life changed forever.

An Alien Child

After returning to Earth, Elizabeth discovered she was pregnant. Akon had foreseen it and assured her everything was prepared. When the time came, he returned for her. She was taken back to the mothership, where their son was born—painlessly, naturally, and with the help of curative waters from Meton. The child didn’t cry, and the birthing process was almost serene.

Elizabeth stayed on Meton for a time, bonding with her child. But eventually, she had to return to Earth. Her son, however, would remain in space to be raised according to the customs of his father’s people.

A Story That Echoed Through Time

Elizabeth Klarer never denied or retracted her story. Until her passing in 1994 at age 84, she retold the same tale consistently, without contradictions. While many doubted her, others were fascinated. Her story was covered in South African and British media, and she became a beloved—and controversial—figure in the UFO community.

She claimed to have continued contact with both Akon and their son throughout her life.

Truth, Legend, or Something In-Between?

Elizabeth Klarer’s account is one of the most detailed and emotionally complex abduction stories ever told. Whether viewed as fact, metaphor, or mystery, her story forces us to ask: What if?

What if love really knows no boundaries… not even the boundaries of Earth?
